Professional Canon XA1O captures Full HD 1080p video using an AVCHD codec. However, the output videos in AVCHD are rather difficult to handle. For example, FCP can’t recognize the MTS files from Canon XA10 HD camera. If you want to edit the Canon XA10 captured video with Final Cut Pro on Mac, you will need to convert XA10 AVCHD/MTS to ProRes codec that FCP supported.
If you’re in such a situation, here is an easy solution. Video Converter for Mac is a great tool introduced by Jihosoft Studio, which can convert AVCHD MTS files from Canon XA10 camera to Apple ProRes on Mac OS X. Then, you can import the converted XA10 video to FCP for further editing. Also, this program provides advanced output profile settings, which allows you to adjust video codec, bit rate, frame rate, etc. to best suits Final Cut Pro.
1. Import Canon XA10 AVCHD Files
After you install and run the Canon XA10 Video Converter on Mac, you can click “Import” to add AVCHD MTS files from Canon XA10 camcorder to the program.
